NAVETCO also operates a Research Center established by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) for the duty of research on livestock and poultry diseases, as well as veterinary vaccine and medicine development. The Center has successfully conducted many state, ministry and institute-level projects on acute diseases, e.g. Septicaemic Pasteurellosis, Salmonellosis, Fowl Cholera, Gumboro, Fowl Pox, Newcastle Disease, Avian Influenza, Hog Cholera, PRRS, Circovirus-caused diseases, Goat Pox, FMD. Many diagnostic technologies have also been successfully developed and applied, e.g. ELISA, PCR, IPMA; IIP; NPLA. These achievements have made great contributions to veterinary science and our development and sustainability.
Research collaboration is also one of our strengths. Our projects with The University of Queensland and Australian Animal health Laboratory (AAHL) funded by ACIAR or CARD Programme by AUSAID have received high recognition both in terms of scientific and economic values, notably those on pasteurellosis, heat-resistant Newcastle vaccine, duck cholera and fowl cholera vaccines, and recently on-tissue cultured hog cholera vaccine. Collaborative activities with local organizations also bring us success, particularly with the Institute of Biotechnology on Avian Influenza H5N1 vaccine and with Nanogen Biopharmaceutical on Interferon.
In addition, we also operate a veterinary center located in Nhuan Duc Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, performing quality control on products manufactured or imported by NAVETCO.
